Snacks to get you through the day

Snacks can sometimes pose the biggest challenge to sticking to empowered eating.

 

When we get the munchies it can be all too easy to fall into mindless snacking.  Before I know it, I’ve taken in more calories than my body needs, and nobody feels good after that choice.

 

During that mindless snacking we zone out, therefore not really being present to enjoy the smells and tastes and sensual experience of eating.

 

Life can get so busy, so it's a challenge to nurture our bodies as our days get filled with meetings, appointments, so many to-dos life can get overwhelming.

 

That is especially why we need to keep the best fuel for our bodies at hand to make it easy as possible to make the best choices...

 

Here are a few of my favorite snack items to keep stable between meals:

  • Green apple and almond butter

  • Assorted raw veggies - try some new ones!

  • Carrots and hummus

  • Hard-boiled eggs with sea salt

  • Coconut and nut butter bombs

  • Homemade protein bars (recipe ideas to come)

  • Nuts and seeds

  • Dark chocolate

  • Small portion Greek yogurt with berries

I keep my fridge and office stocked so that I am prepared when the hunger strikes.
