Lemon ginger honey drink

Next time you are feeling under the weather*, try making this incredible hot lemon-ginger-honey-cayenne concoction.

This is my favorite drink when I have the chills or feeling slightly nauseous.

Here's what you need:

1/2 organic lemon ~ 12oz hot water ~ 1 inch knob organic ginger root ~ 1T or more raw organic honey ~ dash cayenne (optional)

Here's what you do:

Using a high-speed blender (I love my Vitamix), pour in the hot water and full half of the lemon (including the rind).  Add honey (more if you want it sweet). And a quarter pinch of cayenne if you want an extra kick.  Blend it up until the lemon gets broken down and you see the froth on the top.

This drink is intensely lemony-gingery.  So full of vitamin C, potassium and magnesium.  It aids in digestion (warm lemon water is a staple to drink every morning to wake up your digestive system).  The ginger is also good for nausea.  Cayenne pepper has numerous benefits including detox, metabolism-boosting qualities.

Enjoy it on a sniffly-nose, or mildly nauseous tummy kind of day.

I'd love for you to try this soothing drink, and tell me what you think!
